WHEEL POLISHING
Over time without regular maintanence, a process called galvanic corrosion can eat away at your metal or alloy rims, and especially chrome and polished aluminum. Polishing can remove oxidation, and corrosion on your wheels most of the time, but once the coating starts flaking off, the only repair is to have the wheel re-dipped or repainted.
Every time you touch your car, whether it is with a wash mitt/rag, towel, or even your finger you are inflicting tiny scratches into your clear coat by moving the dirt around on the surface. Swirl marks prevent your paint from having that showroom new, wet looking shine. Thousands upon thousands of little swirls are inflicted upon your car (mostly due to automatic car washes and improper hand washing and drying techniques.) The only way to remedy swirls is by machine polishing. The modern basecoat/clear coat paint system of today's automobile has many advantages over earlier lacquer paint systems. One drawback to them is that they actually require more care then conventional paint systems.
